The Common Scarlet dragonfly ( Crocothemis servilia ) is a widespread and common species found in Singapore. Their hindwings measuring 31 -33mm and total body length 40-43mm, they are one of the larger red dragonflies here. The adult male is red from head to tail including the eyes. Legs finer and more numerous spines.The female is  light brown in colour. Both have a distinctive dark line along the dorsum of the abdomen.
